Two major problems found with this draft…

Cathedral City's new Zoning Code Update is out for public review and there's 2 major problems in it:

1) Data Centers should NOT have been added to a 500 page document that the public only had a week to review, this is shady af.

2) Throughout the code, this draft takes review authority from the Planning Commission and puts it with staff. This is a LOSS OF RIGHTS for our community as we have no oversight or review of Staff actions. Council members are voted in, Planning Commissioners are appointed by Council and subject to recalls; Staff are NOT voted in and we have no recourse over their decisions. We MUST NOT ALLOW our rights to be taken away like this.
